Chapter Twenty

THE SUN WAS JUST RISING, so they had enough light to see Joey emerge from the smoke and run into a strip mall. Another missile appeared in the sky and slammed into the mall. Again, Joey sped out the back, disappeared into the trees of a park, and was gone.

Roy laughed. “Joey just saved herself.”

Halcyon was quiet, and Roy knew why. She was tracing the signal of the decaying old man. He must’ve noticed it too because his face vanished.

Roy didn’t pause. “Track him, Hal. I’m going after Joey.”

“You’re not going alone!” she said. “And before you leave, get in the fucking tank. You levelled, and you need your next fucking powers!”

She wasn’t wrong. He jogged into the tank, and the entire thing lowered and sealed. The robotic arms buzzed down, and he felt the cold metal on his skin. This was a new thing they were trying out. It would help Halcyon in the end since she had to map the existing powers of the monster girls and lay them across Roy’s cellular structure.

Roy felt the injection. Fresh Effexium filled his veins, ready to be programmed.

“So, Roy, which shit do you want?” Halcyon asked. “Chop chop. We have to get you out there and with Joey. That missile had to come from somewhere. I’m tracking the trajectory.”

Roy nodded. “Since you came up with such a badass name, let’s go with Infinity Juggernaut.”

“That’s what I like to fucking hear!” Halcyon laughed.

“Did you fix the eye defect?” Roy asked.

The A.I. didn’t answer right away. “Uh. I think so. We’ll print you up some goggles until I can confirm.”

Roy exhaled. “Well, a guy can’t have everything.”

Tails came running in with her nine tufts waving behind her foxy face. She’d changed into her Effexium suit, and she looked ready for their next adventure. “Toxy is on her way,” Tails called out. “She’s waking up Chrissy. With Halcyon’s and Bruce’s help, our little goat girl can take care of the niddies.”

“I don’t have real tits so I can’t breastfeed the babies, but I do have eyes. I’ll help.” Halcyon’s voice in the speakers sounded a tad dejected.

Roy remembered that something was going on with Halcyon. He’d have to check with the A.I. once they had rescued Joey and fought their way to the network node that would give them access to the Pine Springs factory.

Tails came up to the tank. “Oh, Roy is getting a procedure done. What powers did you decide on?”

Halcyon didn’t answer. “We have to get this shit going. This might...hurt...a bit, Roy. But you’re tough.”

Then Roy felt the power hit him. He grew, ripping through his pajamas and becoming a giant with far larger hands, a thick neck. Even his head was bigger, with a massive jaw. Everything had become huge. His limp dick dangled a good twelve inches long.

Tails blinked, stunned into silence.”

“Sorry for cutting you off,” Halcyon said.

The fox girl pointed. “That...that wouldn’t fit. Maybe. I mean. Probably not. Kinda like to try.” The fox girl was definitely taken aback.
